Abstract

Gadget use among Indonesian adolescents reaches 99.16% with an average duration of 6-8 hours per day. Global research shows that duration ≥4 hours/day increases the risk of sleep disturbances (42%), anxiety (31%), depression (28%), and suicidal ideation (19%). National data showed that 62.3% of adolescents experienced sleep disturbances. This activity aimed to improve PC NU mothers' understanding and skills in digital accompaniment strategies. The activity was conducted on May 12, 2026, at PC NU Wates District, involving 30 mothers of adolescent children (ages 13-18). The intervention included classical training, demonstrations, independent practice, and FGDs. Data were collected through pre-test/post-test, observation, interviews, and FGDs, and analyzed using a mixed-methods approach. Participants' knowledge increased from 64.9 to 70.8. However, the implementation of digital parenting was only 24.8%, with the lowest achievement in screen time restriction (13%) and the 20-20-20 rule (9%), indicating a significant knowledge-behavior gap. The program was effective at increasing knowledge but insufficient to change behavior. The implication is the need for sustainable and integrative mentoring. The religious community-based approach is effective as an intervention channel. Recommendations include peer support groups, parental control training, and family involvement.
